We finally managed to get a vacation together planned and executed! Boston here we come!
First Day: Trip to Plymouth
replica of the Mayflower
The Grist Mill.
The Plimouth Patuxet Museum.
Malia's favorite part of the Pilgrim village.
Plymouth Rock.
The girls' room.
Ezra made a reading nook above the stairs.
The Freedom Trail, which we did over two days.
Malia's IE in CC had been Paul Revere's Ride, so it was fun to see things pertaining to him.
His house.

The Old Statehouse. This balcony was the spot where the Declaration of Independence was first read to the colonists standing below.
The Boston Harbor

Old South Meeting House - where the decision to have the Boston Tea Party (and many other important political conversations) occurred.
U.S.S. Constitution (a.k.a. Old Ironsides)
Bunker Hill
World War 2 Monument
Chinatown

Farmer's Market Indian Food

Street Piano
Another beach, since the kids really wanted to swim.

Natural Museum of History at Harvard
Our families split up for a time, and we listened to the Boston Orchestra play at Symphony Hall. They played the entire score of Harry Potter, while the movie played on a screen above them. It was fantastic! (Although upon arrival we discovered that vaccine cards or negative COVID tests were required, so we sprinted to the nearest CVS, which had no bathroom, bought rapid tests, stood in the middle of the aisle to take them, then rushed back to the show in time.)

We also went to a market and Mike's Pastry.

We packed lunches every day.
We did lots of public transportation.
At our house, there we played games like Generosity,
Dutch Blitz,
Tenzi,
Numbers,
and Button, Button, Who Has the Button.
And we also heard Tony read-aloud "The Tale of Despereaux", and watched Big Hero Six.
We really couldn't have asked for a better trip. Masks were almost non-existent, the weather was wonderful, and we were able to see and enjoy a lot of American History!
